Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
The Short Version
CodeTidy's tools run entirely in your browser. We do not collect, store, or transmit any data you enter into our tools. Your code, JSON, text, keys, and other inputs never leave your device. The sections below explain this in full, including how third-party advertising and analytics work, what cookies may be set, and the rights you have over your data.
Information We Do Not Collect
Because every tool processes data locally in your browser, we never receive the content you paste, type, upload, or generate. We do not run user accounts, we do not ask for your name or email to use a tool, and we do not build advertising or behavioural profiles from the data you process. There is no server-side database of your inputs because the inputs never reach a server.
Information Collected Automatically
Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider and the services described below process limited, standard technical information when you visit — such as your approximate region (derived from your IP address), browser type, device type, referring page, and the pages you view. This information is used in aggregate to keep the site secure, reliable, and improving. We use cookie-less, privacy-focused web analytics that record only anonymous, aggregated usage and do not track individuals across sites or set tracking cookies.
Advertising
CodeTidy displays advertisements to fund the free operation of the site. We work with third-party advertising partners, including Google AdSense, to serve these ads.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to CodeTidy and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu.
- Third-party ad networks may also use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies to measure ad performance. Their use of this information is governed by their own privacy policies, including Google's Privacy & Terms.
We do not provide any data you enter into our tools to advertisers. Ads are served based on standard, industry-wide contextual and interest signals — never on the contents of your clipboard, your code, or anything you process on the site.
Cookies
CodeTidy itself does not set tracking cookies. However, third-party services loaded on the site — primarily advertising partners such as Google — may set cookies or use similar technologies as described above. Most browsers let you view, manage, block, or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking advertising cookies will not prevent you from using any tool on the site; the tools function identically with or without cookies enabled.
Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data and to opt out of personalised advertising or the "sale" of personal information. Because we do not collect the data you enter into our tools and do not maintain user accounts, we hold very little personal data about you. To exercise any applicable rights regarding advertising cookies, use the opt-out links in the Advertising section above; for any other request, contact us using the details below.
Children's Privacy
CodeTidy is a set of developer utilities intended for a general, professional audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Third-Party Links
Our site may contain links to external websites — documentation, related tools, and resources. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Data Security
The site is served exclusively over encrypted HTTPS connections. Since the data you process stays in your browser, the most important security boundary — your own device — remains entirely under your control.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, our advertising partners, or legal requirements. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date above.
